RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
Community Living Arrangements (CLA)
CLA provides 24-hour supervision and assistance by Residential Advisors trained in behavioral and medical issues. Milestone helps new consumers find comfortable homes and compatible housemates in neighborhoods of their choice. Transportation is provided for work, leisure, healthcare, shopping and social activities. Resident Advisors assist consumers with meal preparation, self-care skills and work on specific skill development areas.
Life-Sharing
Lifesharing is an alternative residential program to Community Living Arrangements. Individuals are matched with qualified, caring and supportive families that open their home to consumers. Supports can include transportation, self-care assistance, and community integration. Compensated families are supported with respite care and are trained in behavior management, vocational programming and family-related issues.
Supported Living
Provides limited supervision and assistance by Residential Advisors trained in behavioral and medical issues. Milestone helps new consumers find comfortable homes and compatible housemates in neighborhoods of their choice. Transportation is provided for work, leisure, health care, shopping and social activities and residential advisors assist with meal preparation and other self-care skills, working on specific skill development areas with each person.
DAY PROGRAMS
Adult Training Facilities (Monroeville, Lawrenceville)
Available at two locations—the Lawrenceville Support Center (LSC) and our Nelson Therapeutic Activity Center in Monroeville (NTAC)—Milestone’s Adult Training Programs assist each person in becoming as independent as possible in the development of practical and useful skills. Focus is placed on safety and community awareness, understanding and responding to basic safety issues. Milestone has made a commitment to providing services of the utmost quality to adults with developmental challenges and programming is a highly individualized, planned and coordinated process.
Senior Services (New Horizon)
New Horizon is a day program focusing on skill and health maintenance. The facility is a dual-licensed older adult living center and adult training facility and is available to anyone with aging issues regardless of chronological age. Group and individual programming is conducted in a small, relaxed, home-like environment where health, nutrition, exercise, cultural endeavors and socialization are the core of daily activities. Additionally, nursing home services are available for those individuals who are eligible to receive OBRA funding.
Enterprise Work Activities Center (WAC)
Milestone’s Vocational Training Program at our Enterprise Work Activity Center (WAC) offers production services to the manufacturing industry and affords our consumers the opportunity to receive on-the-job training as they participate in paid work activities. This program provides a unique opportunity for employees to receive a dual service. Employees receive on-the-job training in packaging job assignments contracted from outside companies and receive vocational programming designed to promote community employment success, safety and professionalism. Employees of the Enterprise are paid biweekly and observe conventional work routines.
Supported Employment
Our Supported Employment Program assists adults with a wide variety of challenges in securing and maintaining employment in the community. Employment Specialists provide on-the-job training, work to overcome barriers consumers may face in the business world and provide employer consultation and follow-up assessments of employee performance and employer satisfaction. The program also provides Social Security benefits analysis and consultation on the use of Social Security Work Incentives.
Milestone Adventure Program (MAP)
Milestone also has an outdoor learning and adventure program with MAP. The program is designed to remove consumers from the confines of a typical day program setting. Consumers will learn outdoor-based life skills to further their capacity for independence and self-fulfillment. The program is a combination of in-class learning sessions along with hands-on out door activities.
