Q.        What services does Milestone provide?

A.        Services include Outpatient Treatment, Comprehensive Clinical Services, comprehensive Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (I&DD) services, Day Programming, Residential Programs, Home-based Services, Employment Training, Case Management, Workshop and Horticulture-based industries, an Art Gallery, a consumer-operated Drop-in Center, and Specialized Deaf Services.

 

Q.        What steps do I need to take to get services through Milestone?

A.        Eligibility criteria differ between programs and services.  To obtain information on services available, to be directed to the appropriate contact person or for general inquires please contact:

Q.        How do I get my own Service Coordinator?

A.        Milestone offers both community-based and administrative service coordination services for adults and children.  Eligibility and referral requirements differ between the levels of service.  For more information on eligibility and referral requirements, contact either:

Q.        What type of insurance do you need to have in order to use Milestone services?

A.        Milestone accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Waiver, and most major insurance plans.  Milestone also utilizes a sliding fee scale for individuals who do not have insurance.  Individuals with reduced or no income may be eligible to receive services without any out-of-pocket costs.

 

Q.        Who do I contact to make an appointment with a therapist?

A.        Consumers who wish to initiate therapy services can contact the Intake Department at 412-731-9707.  Consumers who are currently active in therapy services and need to change, cancel, or reschedule their appointment can call the office in which they are seen for therapy and our friendly support staff will assist them. 

 

Q.        Who do I contact for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) assistance?

A.        Individuals can visit their local Social Security Administration office, call the toll-free number at 1-800-772-1213, or talk with their treating clinician/staff member who can refer them to internal staff members who can provide direct assistance.

 

Q.        Who do I contact to tour your facility?

A.        Call the administrative office at 412-371-7391 and you will be put in contact with the appropriate person to schedule a tour of our facilities. 

 

Q.        Who do I contact for Respite Care Services?

A.        For Child Behavioral Health Respite Services:  412-731-9707, ext. 238.

Q.        Who do I contact for Coffee House?

Q.        Can you refer me to someone in your Development & Communications Department or in Marketing?

Q.        Who do I contact about getting someone into a Group Home?

Q.        How do I become a Host Home or a Lifesharing Family?

Q.        Can I receive help paying my utility bills?

A.        Milestone maintains limited funding to assist consumers in emergency situations once all community resources have been exhausted.  For more information, please call 412-371-7391, ext. 139

Q.        I’d like to purchase lettuce; who do I call?

A.        Lettuce can be purchased at the Milestone Greenhouse and at the following Giant Eagle locations:  Settler’s Ridge (near the airport), Shadyside, and South Hills. 

 

Q.        Where is your Food Bank located; what are the hours; am I qualified?

A.        The food pantry is located at 611 South Avenue in Wilkinsburg.  Hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays each week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Consumers who receive services from Milestone or any other social service provider in the area are eligible to participate.
